What I've achieved whilst in Nepal...

Written by Stephanie Rae, GapBreak Nepal, 2009

My list of the cool things I've done in Nepal over 4 months;
-hiked to almost 5000 meters above sea-level.
-swam with elephants.

- spent many a night laughing/chasing/being chased by/tickling/be tickled by kids.
-made a fool of myself trying Nepali dance.(3yr old was better than me, no joke)
-sung 'head, shoulders, knees and toes' a million times
-sung"hokey pokey" a million times
-sat under tables with grade 3 and repeadly shouted "i am under the table"
-done the chicken dance non-stop with my little brothers and sisters in the village.
-shared a doctors clinic with a dog
-drank countless cups of tea
-learned to enjoy and even look forward to dahl baht.
-found massive temples off streets I'd walked down a million times before.
-lived in the year 2066 (the Nepali calendar runs differently to ours)
-ridden on top of a bus with chickens, goats,all sorts of building supplies and goods for the market while dodging power lines and trees.
-tried to teach my students how to pronounce "sh" 'f"and "V" and been entertained for hours on end when I would finally get them to say "fish" at which point everything they had learnt in the last hour disappeared and I had 30 kids shouting out"piss"
