UniBreak June students arrive in Cambodia
COUNTRY: Cambodia
PROGRAM: UniBreak
PROJECT: Education
WRITTEN BY: Caitlin Boyd
Family and friends, the Antipodean 8 of UniBreak Cambodia have arrived safe and well, somewhat sleep deprived, but eager for our four weeks ahead volunteering in Siem Reap.
Arriving at staggered intervals to our new home of Jasmine Lodge, we were warmly welcomed by owner Mr Kunn and the equally warm humidity of Cambodia. Fresh off the plane, we indulged in well deserved massages then a treat buffet dinner and cultural dance at Amazon Ankor.
Already loving both the cuisine and culture, and discussion of dinner plans for the week has already begun!
The next few days involve briefing, orientation, working on our broken Khmer, then finally the commencement of our placements, something we are all excited to get underway.
Keep posted to hear more of the adventures that will no doubt unfold over the next month!

Thanks for the update Caitlin. It's reassuring for the group's families back in Australia!

ReplyDeleteHi Caitlin,
ReplyDeleteWe are wondering how Maria is getting on? We have $80 postage to consider for the books...or suggest other options?
Cheers,
