A teary goodbye with a taste of Vegemite
COUNTRY: Cambodia
PROGRAM: UniBreak
PROJECT: Community Healthcare & Teaching

Time truly has flown over the last four weeks, our departure has definitely snuck up on us. I'm leaving today, Luke and Derek are already gone, Sarah and Jenna go tomorrow and the rest will be departing on Sunday.
This week at our placement was extremely emotional, the physios continued to treat those who needed it and have gotten great feedback from their patients, it appears that their treatments have been going well which is awesome to see. We distributed bikes, crutches, mosquito nets, soap, toothbrushes, mats, blankets and other miscellaneous items to the houses and they were really grateful, it's unfortunate that we couldn't give every house everything they wanted but we were able to give everything out fairly evenly.
Health promotion classes wrapped up with continuing on first aid and we gave a talk on head lice. Jenna and I gave out little packs to our women's class with a few necessities relating to the topics we covered over the last month. For the kids we pretty much just recapped everything and finished off with a culture day and taught them about Australia. We even gave them some vegemite to try, which (unsurprisingly) none of them liked!
There was a ceremony out at MHDC for us on Thursday, a few tears were shed and many pictures taken. I speak for all of us when I say that this has been such a fantastic and enlightening experience, we went over to give but I feel like they have given us so much more. I would also like to mention how incredible our translators have been, so much appreciation for them! I hope you've all enjoyed hearing about our trip, and we'll be home safe and sound very soon:)
