All Hallows Team A Update from Miri, Borneo

After being in the air for over ten hours in a flight that had Bollywood music, a typical Malaysian breakfast (which consists of chicken noodles or a spicy prawn curry) a little bit of turbulance, a lot of resting and a smooth landing all the girls from team A arrived safely and happily in Miri, Borneo at about 11:00am 9or 1:00 in Australia)! The first thing that really struck our group was the weather, today being a 'mild' day with a tempreature of about 27 degrees. Within minutes of being outside all of us were covered in sweat and expressing our need for a shower! On the other hand all the locals were wearing jeans and cardigans.

We arrived at the hostel 'Highlands' which has air-con and internet! We then got a debrief about the village, Long Latei, that we will be visiting for the next few days. Upon the news that there would be a great amount of time spent with the littlies over there, team A became extremely excited. The next thing that was to be decided on was what we were to do for the afternoon...of course we chose to go shopping! After a little bit of wandering around, we finally found the main centre. We split into a few large groups to browse around the mall and get some afternoon tea. Many of us bought sarongs and discovered an amazing shop that sells these chocolate crispy crepes, YUM! The final shopping location was a four level supermarket where we bounght wayyy too many snacks for the boat ride tomorrow morning.

All in all, Team A are all safe, happy and cannot wait for the week ahead.
