St Aidans Team A - Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Dear parents and friends,
we have arrived safely in Phnom Penh yesterday and we were very excited to begin our trip. We arrived at around 11am over here. So, we organized to stay at the Sunday Guesthouse, arriving in 'Tuk Tuks' which are small, 4 seater motorbike carriages, which travel through the city.
After arriving at our hospitable guest house and eating a delicious lunch in the restaurant, we headed off to the National Museum. We got to walk through the city, which was a challenge: the traffic is mayhem! the streets are also a little dirtier than we are used to! the museum had some very interesting Khmer artifacts and was a lovely building, with a very relaxing garden and cold drinks. We were all tired, so we had a great time there. After that, we walked over the road to the Royal Palace, and wandered through the gardens and palaces. It is really beautiful over here, and we were happy to rest our sore feet in the gardens, and by the bank of the Mekong later.
We then ate at a great little restaurant called "Friends", which had great food and some excellent desserts. The restaurant had our approval not only for the great food, but it is actually run by students who used to live on the streets, and had achieved an Order of Australia Award. It certainly had yummy food. Then we went to the market for a wander, and it was back to the hotel room for a kip.
All our love,
Antips
