St Aidans Team Garuda

Day 1:
Georgie at ya! Hello Brisbane. Today was the longest flight of our lives, so many cramps and headaches. Sore heads and eyes from too much tv watching! The plane was really nice and had a nice colour theme - purple pink and gold and the service was great. Everyone's really excited and anxious for the journey ahead. We stayed in the Bangkok novotel tonight, so nice! They had a shrine for the king in the centre of it and the ceilings were like 10 metres no exageration! Early start tomorrow so goodnight!

Day 2:
Flight two. Let's just say this plane has a propellor engine... We were worried the wings would fall off! A little stressful this morning, the tickets were left in the hotel room so the leaders had to go back and look for them. The airport was so busy at 6 in the morning and we stood in lines for baggage, customs and passport checks for so long! Still not having had breakfast (or our Malaria tablets) everyone was keen for some food. We managed to quickly buy some (and take our pills so don't stress) and got to our gate just in time... only to find the flight was delayed. Sick one Bangkok airlines!
Today we got picked up by our lovely guides who gave a low down of Luang and brought us to the hotel in these sick trucks with motorbike wheels! We then explored the main street and found an internet cafe, hopefully most of us got on to our parents to say we were safe. Also had our first Laos meal, interesting but yummy. The night markets are so pretty and some of us are going there now to have look. Hope all is well at home and we're off to project tomorrow and trek following, will be in touch.

Oh and Mrs Thomas/Mum, Kat jumped infront of a total of 3 rabid dogs for me, I am yet to take the bus for her.
