During the first week of our intrepid adventure to Vietnam we ventured to the remote village known as Moi in the Mai Chau region. Here we funded and built a toilet block and playground until our arms were toned and our hearts were content from our achievements. With the extra funds raised by our supportive school community we were able to supply books, toys, clothing and sports equipment for the children. Over the five days we immersed ourselves into the Vietnamese culture, enjoying meals cooked by our chefs whilst being accompanied by our tour guide Tuang (Pine) and our best friend Phung. Throughout the project we spent time with the local children playing games. On the final night, the local village gathered with traditional dances and clothing to thank us for our efforts.
At the conclusion of our project we commenced a challenging 3 day trek through rice fields and picturesque scenery. We stayed at the villages of Hang Kia and Van along the way. We were awarded by taking a chillaxative at Halong Bay where we explored mysterious yet breath taking caves and kayaking. After enjoying an exquiste seafood buffet with the finest cuisine caught before our very eyes, we soared 10 metres off our luxurious cruise liner into the crystal blue water, like a seagull chasing a chip into the sky getting a birds eye view of the surrounding rock islands.
